No, I’m not trying to reference the show. I actually do think orange could be the new black. Something is happening in the fashion industry, and I love it! People are being encouraged to wear… More
Today’s review is on the new Huda Beauty Smokey Obsessions Palette. I was so excited when I saw them releasing these little palettes, as Huda Eyeshadow palettes have always been my favorites! This new palette is no exception.
These palettes retail for $27, and they come in different shade scemes including Warm Browns, Mauves, Electric(or colorful), and Smoker tones. These palettes make a wonderful gift, and this is a great option if you’re not sure about trying out the full sized $65 Huda Palettes, but still want to try the brand’s eyeshadows.
My lovely mother gave this palette to me (you can check out her beautiful makeup layout account here), and I loved it so much that I had to review it!
This palette includes five shimmer shadows and four mattes. I’m really in love with the shadow tones too. I’m usually not a smokey eyeshadow person, but I think these have some really pretty in between tones. I especially love the glitter shades. They are super pigmented and make any eye look pop.
These shadows are also very versatile, and you can create tons of different looks with them. You can create a little bit more of a warm smokey shadow look or a silver cut crease from all the wonderful shades. I’ve included some swatches for you to see the tones. Honestly, they are so incredible!
Next I want to say that these shadows are super blendable. I’m still not that great and blending my shadows out, but Huda Beauty has the most easy to blend shadows. Honestly, my favorite brand for eyeshadows.
My only disappointment with this palette is that a few of the shimmers are a little chalky and there is some fallout. I’m not going to lie though, sometimes I have a thing for chalky shimmery shadows because they are often times easier for me to blend. I just make sure to do my eyeshadow first and then dust off the fallout and cover any marks with concealer. It’s definitely one of my new favorite palettes I own!
Honestly, as long as you don’t mind a little fallout, I would highly recommend this palette, especially for the incredible price of $27!
If you enjoyed this review, make sure to comment and email subscribe! I also own two others, so if you’re interested in seeing swatches and reviews, let me know! Thanks for reading loves!
