DIY Poison Ivy Costume

Hey loves! I know I’m coming a little late to the party, but I want to start sharing some Halloween Costume Ideas. Today’s costume is a DIY Poison Ivy costume in Collabortion with Carol Burgess from Beauty Bound. She also created a Super Hero Villian on her Instagram soon!

There are so many different versions of Poison Ivy, so feel free to take your own spin on it. For the makeup look, I painted vines on my neck with the Wolfe Face Paint Palette. I started off with putting solid green lines around my neck, and then put black on the bottom and white on the top of each vine/line to give it a 3D affect. I then blended it together with a damp brush, as that is how you blend the paints. After that, I added little white dots with a detail brush, because it gave it a really cool, realistic look. I painted vines on my arms too.

For my eyes, I used the NYX Cosmetics Hot Singles in the shades “Money Maker” and “Dank.” On the lid, I put a little of the green Wolfe Face Paint to really bring out the bright green color. I also paired it with Elf Liquid Liner and Keiri Lashes. For the lips, I used a Lime Crime Velvetine in “New Americana” and lined it with a NYX Cosmetics Black Lip Liner.

For my costume, I purchased a simple, strapless black dress from a thrift store. I then went to Michael’s and purchased a Leaf Bush in the color and shape I wanted. You can buy individual leaves, but it is more affordable if you buy the bush and cut them each off. To attach them you can buy material glue, sow them on, or even use a glue gun.

When choosing how many leaves or what pattern, it’s up to your personal preference. Make sure not to attach too many, as the dress may get too stiff.

Thank you loves for reading! Feel free to follow, and let me know what you guys think of this look in the comments. Bye lovelies!
